A wig is full coverage and will cover your entire head. A topper is partial coverage and is smaller than a wig. It only covers the top of your head, so is made to blend with your natural hair underneath. Toppers should be around the same or similar colour as your natural hair as it’s only partial coverage, and should be around the same length. A wig can be any colour or length since it’s full coverage and doesn’t need to blend with your natural hair.
